A Long-Term, Geospatial-Based Approach for Location Suitability Evaluation of Flood Relief Camps Considering Climate Change
This study addresses the inadequacy of current flood relief camp locations in accounting for long-term climate change impacts. Focusing on Dhubri district, Assam, India, it develops a geospatial flood susceptibility prediction model using satellite imagery and GIS. Under the SSP3-7.0 climate scenario, the study evaluates flood risks over 50 years (2019–2070) to identify optimal camp locations that minimize disaster impacts. By analyzing site suitability, facility coverage, and population needs, it provides strategic recommendations for climate-resilient relief camp planning.
